Merry Christmas!

Dining Room (old blue room)

Family Room (old pink room)

'08 mini Christmas Tree

I finally got some pictures of the family room and dining room, as well as a couple of our miniature Christmas tree this year. We had a wonderful Christmas Eve at the house, just vegging on the couch and watching movies. We ended up staying there for the next three nights. Of course, each day we had to run to our parent's houses to get cleaned up and grab new clothes, but it was so worth it just to say we were spending the night in "our" house. The upstairs will hopefully be inspected this week and if all goes according to plan, drywall will begin next week! Then about a week and a half after that, we'll officially be able to move in. What a day that shall be!

Living Room and Kitchen OH MY!

It's true!! Our house is actually starting to look like a home!! Thanks to my incredible husband and extremely gracious father-in-law, the first floor of our house is almost 100% complete! And now as they bust their butts on the second floor to get ready for drywall, I have had the opportunity to put my little final touches on the first floor. The battery in my camera unfortunately ran out last night before I could get a picture of the family and dining room, but at least I got to get a few shots of the kitchen and living room.

So we have decided to spend Christmas Eve at the house! Our first night in OUR house!! We will be blowing up the good old air mattress, setting it up in the living room and spend the night watching Christmas movies. We are both looking forward to it very much.

My how time does fly!

I can't even believe how quickly time has flown by. I mean, there's only 15 days til Christmas!! I will say that this has definitely been a different kind of holiday season for us this year with not having our own house and tree to decorate. However, thankfully my mom is pretty much just as nuts about decorating for Christmas as I am, so I had the pleasure of helping her decorate their house. I also get to enjoy the absolutely beautiful Christmas tree they got this year. Thanks mom and dad for putting up with Greg and I for this long....the end is almost near!!!

It looks like we may actually be in our house by the early weeks of January! We moved our living room furniture in this past weekend and it actually looks like someone lives there! It was like Christmas opening all the boxes and seeing all of our stuff again! The kitchen countertop will be installed next week and we will be moving furniture into the family and dining room which will make the first floor a done deal! The drywall on the second floor should be started within 2 weeks and once that's complete, we can actually move in!! Of course we will still need to paint and carpet the upstairs, but that won't keep us from getting our butts in there! :) Once the the kitchen is finished and we move some more furniture into the family and dining room, I'll take some more pics.

Well, I'm officially 3 days shy of 7 months! My next doctor's appointment is December 23rd. Just a regularly scheduled appointment, no ultrasound pics unfortunately. :(
As you can see below, my belly sure has grown quite significantly since my last pic. My appetite continues to increase, and I have a feeling so will my waistline.

Yep, those are some serious child bearing hips if I've ever seen a set!

My butt looks like the world's biggest flapjack!
Greg and I would like to say CONGRATULATIONS to our bestest buddies Nathan and Carey Fortner as they welcomed their first little bundle of joy, Bailey Grace Fortner into the world on November 29, 2008!! This little girl is about as cute as they come and we are so incredibly anxious to meet her in person. Of course, this will be after we welcome our little one, which hopefully will be a little boy so that the two of them can grow up, fall in love, get married, be extremely successful and take care of their loving parents as they travel around the world together. :) Ok, so maybe that's a little far fetched, but we can dream can't we? Anyway, Nate and Carey, we are so happy for the two of you and please give Bailey lots of hugs and kisses from her Uncle Greg and Aunt Tonya!

23 weeks
Well, when Carey told me that one day I'll wake up and it will look like a I swallowed a beach ball, she wasn't kidding! Guess I'm lucky that I have her to give me the heads up on whats to come throughout this whole experience. Love ya Care Bear!
So, as you see, I'm growing and growing and anticipate to be the size of a modular home come Christmas. Ho! Ho! Ho! As of today, I'm officially 23 weeks and counting! A few weeks ago I was up lying in bed with my hand on my stomach and low and behold I felt that little guy/gal kick! I had felt little nudges before, but nothing like this. As soon as Greg got home from working on the house I told him about it and the rest of the night consisted of us holding my belly and giggling at our little one dancing. It was so amazing! We pretty much have done the same thing each night since! I just can't get enough of it. Although, I again was forewarned by my mentor Care Bear that it becomes a bit of a nuisance as time goes on because instead of the baby going to sleep, it instead would like to do the Chicken Dance at 10 p.m. As she said though, she wouldn't want it any other way and neither do I!
I've put up some Before and After pictures of our house. It is definitely a project, but Greg has been outstanding with his progress. No rooms are completely finished, however, the Living Room, Powder Room and Dining Room only have a few more days of work before they can be labeled, COMPLETE!

5 Months!!!

Night, Night little baby!

Amazing!

We can't wait for this little hand to grab onto us!!

His/Her little feet are crossed!

Hello world!

Just look at that little nose!!!

This one looks somewhat like a headless monster don't you think?

Today we had our 5 month ultrasound appointment and I can't stress enough how unbelievably amazing of an experience it was!! To actually see the baby moving his/her arms, mouth, legs, etc., makes it all so completely real!! We stuck to our guns and did not find out the sex of the baby; however, his/her little feet were crossed so we're wondering that even if we did want to know if we would have been able to see anything. Oh well!! All we care about is that our baby's heart and brain are developing well, he/she has 10 fingers, 10 toes, 4 limbs and the cutest little button nose we do believe we've ever seen. :) Ok, so we're a little bias, but hey, who wouldn't be!! Enjoy the pics because you better believe we are!!!

Ocean City, NJ

Hello again! Last Saturday we met my parents, brother and Adelina down in Ocean City, NJ for some fun in the sun! It was such a relaxing 4 days with beautiful, crisp weather and lots of bike riding. It was nice for Greg to get away from working on the house for a few days and it was nice for me to just get away!

Being at the beach really reminded us of how much we miss everyone in S.C. We can't wait til the next time we get to visit. I think a summer '09 trip will be a most definite. Enjoy the pics!!

Yikes! Where did that come from?

Either I really do have a baby growing inside of me, or I'm eating WAY too much!! Well, I guess it's time we finally post a pic of my belly so here it is. As of tomorrow I'll officially be 17 weeks along. Past the 1st trimester...woohoo!! We are anxiously anticipating the next ultra sound which will take place on October 21st. Greg is a bit disappointed that I won't let him find out the sex, but I think in the long run he'll thank me. So other than eagerly awaiting to feel the baby move, we have been up to the same old. Greg has continued to work diligently on the house and it is coming along much quicker than I had anticipated. So hopefully we'll be able to move in by the end of October. Happy Halloween to me!!! :) I am loving my new job and today marked 1 month of me starting. The ladies I work with are wonderful and make going to work actually enjoyable.

So that's the latest in a nutshell. My next regular appointment is Oct. 3rd so keep your fingers crossed that everything continues to look good! Love to you all!!

That's not all!

It the midst of all of the baby commotion, we also came across a wonderful deal on a home! The price had been dropped dramatically so we put in an offer immediately. Within 4 days, we received a call that our offer was accepted! We closed on the house August 4th.
Greg has been a true work horse through everything. After is regular 8 hour day at work, he immediately heads straight over to the new house where he continues to rip out the old to prepare for the new. I can't believe how much he has done already. I, unfortunately am unable to help with any of the inside renovations because of the abundance of mold, fumes and lead paint. We are hoping to be able to move in within a few months. (I really want to be in before Christmas!!!!)

And the last new adventure we have taken on is my new job. I will be starting at a company called Fallon Trading, Co. on August 25th. They are an importing company out of Bethlehem, PA. I would try to describe what they do, but figure you can just check out their website if you're interested. :) www.fallontrading.com

So that pretty much sums up the latest and the greatest with the Davis' since we stepped foot back in PA. As you all know, we like to go big! :)

Love you all and look forward to the journey ahead! Stay posted...

In true Davis fashion...

Well, as most of you know, Greg and I recently moved back to Pennsylvania from sunny South Carolina. We both felt it was time to head back to our roots and begin another chapter in our life together. Along with this move came one of the hardest moments we've had to endure together, saying good bye to all our wonderful friends down south. I believe we can both honestly say that we've never had as much fun as we did with the Bluffton crew. This select group of individuals is as crazy and caring a group as you'd ever want to meet. They are all dearly missed and we are anxious for our first trip back down to see each one of them!

We expected the first few months back home to consist of catching up with friends and family, but in true Davis fashion, we instead decided to take on a bit more. On July 2nd (mind you, this was only the second day we'd been back in PA) much to Greg and my surprise, I found out I was pregnant! Eventhough Greg and I were planning on waiting until we got a house to start adding to the family, we were quite thrilled with the news. My first doctor's appointment was on August 8th and we were informed that I was 2 1/2 months along. I was surprised that I was that far along. When we heard the heartbeat, it was at that moment that it all became so real to us. I am pretty sure the grin our faces somewhat resembled the Joker from The Dark Night. We were gleaming! My due date is March 6th! What is also so exciting about this news is that our best friends, Nate and Carey, are also expecting a little one in December. It's such a relief to know that Carey will be able to help me along with everything since she is a few months ahead of me. I will definitely be seeking some "heads up" from her. Congrads Nate and Carey...we love you!
